This weekend I’ve been moving my computer, books, notebooks, etc. to my new office. It’s so clean and new that I had to buy a new wireless mouse and keyboard, and new mouse pad to match. Unfortunately, my office chair is looking a little worse for the wear but it’s still comfortable so I think I will keep it for a while.

Other items I need for the space are a monitor stand, possibly a keyboard tray, a lateral file, and some pillows. Otherwise, I’m good to go.

On the purely decorative side, I’m thinking about joining a succulent of the month club. My goal is to maintain a small, tasteful succulent garden in the office. 😊 I’m not sure why, I just have a thing for succulents.

I’ve also developed a thing for leather binders and notebooks. They’re not cheap. This one is currently on my Christmas list. I realize it’s expensive, but I like the idea of buying something once, keeping it for years, and not sending it to a landfill. Also, I like the idea of taking my ideas more seriously, keeping them organized, and giving them more permanence.

On the writing front, I logged 7,700 this week. It’s shy of my 10K goal, but I still think it’s an admirable accomplishment. I have not written any fiction this weekend, and I really think my brain needed the break. I spent time relaxing and thinking about the upcoming chapters, so I have plenty of fuel to make it through next week.

I’m also reading a romance by Elana Johnson called The Day He Drove By. (I haven’t finished last week’s books. I have a horrible habit of skipping from book to book and never finishing any. It’s me, not the authors.) She is a very successful Clean and Wholesome romance author, so I wanted to peek into her work and see what she’s all about.

Admittedly, it’s not my usual fare, nor is it my style per se. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. My style is more cynical and satirical, still clean and overall happy, but I think I have a different view of humanity than Elana, lol.

To give you a taste of my style, I do plan to write a novella after my current WIP. The novella will be set in Savannah and will contain the trope which is my series glue. I will make the novella free for a newsletter sign-up. That’s the plan, God willing!

I hope you all had a wonderful week. It was raining here at first, but now we are experiencing beautiful weather. Can’t ask for anything more really. I hope next week finds you well also.

I’ll leave you with this week’s YouTube update.
